October PvM progress: Wilderness bosses, God Wars and the Gauntlet

7 October 2026

The recent Wilderness work covers more than boss attacks. We have been connecting entrances, shared fights, rewards, exits and repeat spawns so an encounter can be tested from arrival through to the next kill.

Crazy archaeologist is available for the production playtest. The other encounters below remain in development. This is a progress report, not an announcement that every Wilderness boss is finished.

Try Crazy archaeologist

Open Bosses → Classic → Crazy archaeologist in the travel interface. The encounter includes normal attacks, explosive books, protection prayers, loot, collection log progress, kill-count achievements and respawning. Private client testing has been completed, and further player feedback is welcome.

Try dodging the books, leaving and returning, and completing a second kill. If you use a trident, pay particular attention to attacking again after moving near obstacles and report any stalled casts.

Exact special-attack timing and scatter remain provisional. Wider reward eligibility, multiplayer ownership rules and some achievement paths also need further verification.

Development preview of the Wilderness travel catalogue. Several listed encounters are still being built.

Scorpia, bears and skeletons

Scorpia now has cave access, a shared encounter, poison that checks antidote protection, guardian healing effects and rewards assigned to the player who earned them. The full fight still needs client acceptance, including guardian timing and multiplayer behaviour.

Artio and Callisto have work covering admission, combat, traps, rewards and respawning. Vet'ion and Calvar'ion have two-form encounters and hellhound phases connected. These are substantial implementations, but combat tuning and several Wilderness rules remain unfinished. PvP, dangerous death, entry-fee loss and encounter-specific restrictions must not be assumed complete.

Spider lairs and unfinished specials

Spindel has entry and exit handling, attacks, minions, webs, ordinary rewards and a saved kill count. Exact timings, unique drops and several progression rules remain open.

Venenatis has group-fight and lair infrastructure, but normal admission remains unavailable until the required encounter settings are verified. Chaos Elemental remains gated to development testing. Chaos Fanatic has a normal-magic prototype; its explosive attacks and automatic disarm selection are not finished.

God Wars Dungeon: access checks first

Dungeon access, faction counters and the on-screen counter display have been connected, with work on the Saradomin rope route too. The current testing scope is entry requirements, counter updates and clearing those counters when leaving the dungeon.

The general encounters remain disabled. Graardor, Kree'arra, Zilyana and K'ril have attack and drop foundations, but boss rooms, minions, reward delivery and recovery still need integration and verification. Their guide entries describe staff-led follow-up checks once those fights are enabled.

The Gauntlet: entry, exploration and recovery

Solo instance maps, room discovery, the preparation timer and temporary equipment handling are connected. On a staff-confirmed test world, testers can check normal and Corrupted entrances, explore rooms, leave and compare their restored inventory and equipment.

A complete preparation-to-reward run remains unfinished. Live gathering and crafting, room NPCs, Hunllef presentation and reward-chest delivery still need work. Disconnect recovery also needs proof, so arrange that check with staff and record your items before entering.

Choose a supported test

We have also added checks against duplicate boss spawns after resets and reloads across these encounters. The roadmap tracks the remaining gaps. Ask staff which newer encounters are enabled on your test world. Use the playtest guide to choose a supported test, and include the boss, attack, location and sequence of actions in any support report.
